About Michael

My name is Michael, I am an experienced Maths tutor (10 years and over 40 families) and am available to support your child during this difficult time. I am able to teach the A-level course to students who are in Y11, or those who found Y12 difficult and need to catch-up. I am also very happy to help with any other educational goal you may have.

Professional Experience:
I am currently a National Lead Practitioner for Maths. I am also a 2iC in a Maths department, and I have run the A-Level Maths and Further Maths courses at a large academy for 3 years. I wrote the curriculum, designed the lessons and wrote the assessments for my department, across both years of A-Level Maths and Further Maths, and have seen significant success in the student's performance. I have also trained 3 other teachers to teach A-level Maths.

Tutoring Experience
I have supported a number of students, all at different places in their educational journey, and with different educational goals. This includes 3 GCSE students, who each made 2-3 grades of progress in the 6 months that I was their tutor, and 5 A-Level students, all of whom were accepted by their firm choice university. I have also worked with younger students at KS3 level, 1 of whom fell behind for medical reasons (after 4 months she was back in the top set), and one who needed a confidence boost as she had been moved down multiple sets (she moved from set 4 to set 2 after 9 months and was much happier).

About the lesson

I am experienced in teaching A-level and GCSE Maths, and love tutoring because I'm so passionate about my subject!

My methods involve listening to what the student needs from me, and communicating really clearly what we need to learn today, and what the plan is in the future.
