About Jin
Hi, I’m Jin Tang — a dedicated secondary Mathematics teacher based in Melbourne. I currently teach Year 10–12 Mathematics at a Catholic Day School. Alongside my school role, I provide personalized tutoring to help students build confidence, master concepts, and achieve strong results.

My Tutoring Approach
I believe every student can succeed in mathematics when concepts are explained clearly and connected to real-life examples. My teaching style focuses on:
1. Step-by-step explanations that break down complex problems into manageable parts.
2. Scaffolded learning — starting from prior knowledge, then building towards advanced topics.
3. Active engagement through questioning, worked examples, and guided practice (booklet will be provided).
4. Exam preparation using past papers, practice SACs, and targeted revision strategies.
5. Metacognitive strategies to help students reflect on their learning, track progress, and develop independent problem-solving skills.
Lesson Structure
Typical lesson length: 60 minutes (can extend to 90 minutes for exam preparation).
Lessons begin with a quick check-in or review, followed by focused teaching on key concepts, guided practice, and independent work with feedback.
I use digital tools such as OneNote, Padlet, and interactive quizzes to make lessons more engaging and effective.
