About Sasha Kay

I've always enjoyed the challenge and logic of mathematics, and I love sharing that enthusiasm with others.
I became a maths tutor because I believe every student can succeed in mathematics when they are given the right support, encouragement, and explanations that make sense to them. I know that many students find maths difficult or intimidating at times, but I've seen how confidence can grow when concepts are explained clearly and patiently.
When I teach, I try to bring maths to life by connecting it to real-world situations. Whether it's understanding finance, analysing statistics in sport, exploring patterns in nature, or solving everyday problems, I enjoy showing students how mathematics helps us understand the world around us. My aim is to help you see that maths isn't just something you learn in school, it's a useful skill that can open doors and help you think critically throughout your life.
Most importantly, I want my lessons to be a positive and supportive experience. I encourage questions, celebrate progress, and help students build the confidence to tackle challenges independently. My goal is not only to help you achieve your academic goals but also to develop an appreciation for mathematics and the opportunities it can create for your future.
I look forward to helping you grow in confidence, develop your mathematical skills, and discover just how rewarding maths can be.

About the lesson

I believe that maths is much more than a school subject. It is a powerful way of thinking that helps us make sense of the world around us. In my tutoring sessions, I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and challenging themselves. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to suit individual needs, strengths, and goals. One of the things I enjoy most about teaching maths is showing students how the concepts they learn in the classroom connect to real life. Whether it's understanding patterns in nature, managing finances, analysing sports statistics, or solving everyday problems, I help students see the relevance and value of mathematics beyond exams and textbooks. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to instil a genuine appreciation for the subject. By developing strong problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts, I hope to inspire students to approach maths with curiosity, confidence, and a positive mindset that will benefit them throughout their education and beyond.
