About Devansh
Hi!
I am a Civil Engineering undergraduate at Newcastle University with a strong academic background in Maths and Physics. Having lived in two countries, I have been exposed to different cultures and enjoy meeting and working with people from varied backgrounds. Teaching is something I genuinely find rewarding because I enjoy helping others build confidence and overcome challenges.
I achieved an A* in Maths and an A in Physics in my A-levels. I have also done after school mentoring for school students studying KS3 and GCSE Maths and already have over 100+ hours of prior online tutoring experience in Maths and Physics whilst I was in my first year at University. I aim to make every student feel comfortable asking questions and be proud of their progress.

In my lessons I use the study methods, revision strategies and exam techniques that helped me succeed in Maths and Physics, adapting them to each student’s individual needs and learning style.
I have over 100 hours of online tutoring experience through MyTutor, supporting students at KS3, GCSE and A-level. I also taught Maths to younger pupils after school while I was in sixth form, which helped me develop the patience, communication and flexibility needed to explain topics in different ways.
My lessons are mainly aimed at KS3, GCSE and A-level students. In the first lesson, I use a small set of questions to understand the student’s current level, identify gaps in knowledge and agree the areas that need the most attention. This means future lessons can be tailored around their goals, whether that is improving confidence, catching up on missed content, preparing for an upcoming test or working towards a particular grade.
A typical one-hour lesson includes a clear explanation of the topic, worked examples and progressively more challenging exam-style questions. Students are encouraged to ask questions throughout, and we will work through any misunderstandings during the lesson rather than moving on too quickly.
I believe consistency is essential for academic progress. Where useful, I can provide focused questions, revision prompts or flashcard-style tasks to complete between lessons, helping students retain new knowledge and build confidence over time. My aim is to make Maths and Physics feel more manageable as well as enjoyable, while giving students the skills to approach unfamiliar exam questions independently.
