About Kelsie
Over the course of my career, I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, from elementary school through university. I also spent five years teaching mathematics internationally, which helped me develop the ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt my teaching to different learning styles and educational backgrounds.
One question I hear often is, "When will I ever use this in real life?" While you may not use the Pythagorean theorem or quadratic formula every day, the true value of mathematics lies in the skills it develops. Learning math teaches logical thinking, problem-solving, pattern recognition, and the ability to break complex challenges into manageable steps. These are skills that are valuable in virtually every field and throughout daily life, regardless of your career path.
My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build their confidence and independence as learners. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. By focusing on understanding rather than memorization, I help students develop the critical thinking skills they can carry with them long after the lesson ends.

I believe every student can succeed in mathematics with the right support and approach. My teaching style focuses on building confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and helping students understand the "why" behind mathematical concepts rather than simply memorizing formulas.
A typical lesson begins with identifying areas of difficulty, followed by guided examples, practice problems, and real-world applications to reinforce learning. I adapt my teaching methods to each student's learning style, pace, and goals, whether they are preparing for tests, improving grades, or seeking enrichment.
What sets me apart is my combination of academic expertise and extensive teaching experience. I've been tutoring mathematics since I was 12 years old, hold an Honours BSc in Mathematics & Statistics and an MBA specializing in Data Analysis, and taught mathematics internationally for five years. This allows me to explain concepts in multiple ways and connect mathematical theory to practical applications.
I work with students from elementary school through university, including algebra, functions, calculus, statistics, data analysis, and exam preparation. Whether you're struggling with the basics or tackling advanced coursework, I provide patient, personalized support to help you reach your goals.
