About Iris
I was trained as a radiochemist in the department of modern physics. Math is my favorite subject. I have engaged myself in math learning, tutoring, and teaching. Good math knowledge enhances physics learning, since physics relies heavily on mathematical concepts and techniques to describe and analyze physical phenomena. Calculus is essential for understanding changes and motion. To effectively learn calculus, start with the fundamentals of arithmetic, including operations with numbers, fractions, and decimals, to build a strong foundation. This learning journey has prepared me and lead me to fulfil job tasks.

I tutor math from grade 1 - 12, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-calculus and Calculus, and some basic Statistics. I also help SSAT math and AMC 8 test prep. In addition, I tutor IGCSE Year 10 Math and Physics, high school Chemistry and Physics. I tutor both AP Chemistry and AP Physics as well, having taught both subjects at the AP level.
For online tutoring, I use Zoom or a similar platform to connect with my students, leverage screen sharing and interactive whiteboards to visually explain concepts, and particularly using drawing tablets to further illustrate complex ideas in subjects like math, chemistry, and physics. This approach is very effective in providing a visual learning experience for students.
