About Allegra
️I am an experienced tutor of English Literature (4 years), specialising in essay writing skills, exam prep, novels & poetry of the English and American canons, and creative writing. My current students, aged 14-18, are taking their Literature GCSEs, A-Levels, and International Baccalaureate.
I have a BA Hons in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Warwick and a Masters Degree in Fiction Writing from the Royal Holloway University.
I also have three years' experience as a classroom English teacher in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Struggling to stay focused on studying at home? Owing to the current UK lockdown, I have completely opened my schedule! I am available to tutor during the day for all those who are in need of structure and engaging one-to-one support

I give close, careful guidance on methods my students can implement to improve their writing style, widen their vocabulary, and confidently plan and organise their essays. I also help them to access and explore the nuances of literary texts by giving lessons on context, facilitating discussion and encouraging students’ own unique perspectives on the themes, motifs, and symbols.
️After all, engaged curiosity is what will propel anyone who finds literature daunting toward higher grades and - more importantly - a lifelong love of the subject.
