About Jessie
Hello! I'm a full-time high school Latin teacher with more than a decade of classroom experience teaching Latin I through AP Latin. I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in Classics and am passionate about helping students succeed, whether they are just beginning Latin or tackling advanced authors like Vergil and Caesar. My goal is to make every lesson engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style. I believe students learn Latin best by reading the language rather than simply memorizing grammar rules. My lessons combine clear explanations of grammar with guided reading, translation practice, vocabulary development, and discussions of Roman history and culture. Every lesson is tailored to the student's goals, whether they are preparing for a class, an AP Latin exam, homeschooling, college coursework, or learning Latin for personal enrichment. As a full-time high school Latin teacher with more than a decade of classroom experience, I understand how to explain difficult concepts in an approachable way and help students build both confidence and lasting proficiency.
