About Owen
At the heart of my teaching is a genuine care for the children I work with. Over my 12 years in the classroom, I’ve always put everything into supporting my pupils, and that same commitment goes into every 1:1 session I teach.
I focus on making lessons engaging and enjoyable, but the ultimate goal is simple: building your child’s confidence and making sure they make tangible progress. When a child feels comfortable and understood, the learning follows naturally.
I know every learner is different, and I don't use a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m always open to feedback from both parents and pupils, and I am more than happy to adapt my teaching style, pace, or methods to suit what works best for your child.

Becoming a primary teacher is something I’ve always wanted to do, and choosing it as my career is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve been teaching for 12 years now, and my passion for helping children learn is just as strong as when I first started.
My absolute favourite part of teaching is building positive relationships with my pupils and watching their confidence grow over time. School can be very fast-paced, and it’s easy for children to feel overwhelmed or think they "can't do" a subject when things move quickly. 1:1 tutoring gives us the time and space to slow down, break things down step-by-step, and work at a pace that suits them best.
Outside of the classroom, I love reading and staying active—you’ll usually find me playing hockey, running, or spending time outdoors. I bring that same positive, enthusiastic energy into my sessions, creating a calm and encouraging space where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking pride in their progress.
