About Irene

I am a Teacher of Italian as Foreign Language (DITALS I). I also hold an Undergraduate 2:1 degree in International Liaison and Communication from the University of Westminster and a Postgraduate Master’s in Intercultural Studies (Merit) from the University of Foreign Languages and Literature of Florence. I have over 6 years' experience as a private tutor/teacher. I have extensive experience in tutoring Italian to A Level standard, as well as iGCSE and GCSE. Amongst my students, I have helped them achieve 8 A* grades in Italian. For example, I have tutored one student previously at a predicted B grade to A* grade Italian language GCSE on the Edexcel board in 2018 and another student to A* standard on the Edexcel board A Level in 2018. Additionally, I have experience in leading group classes, as well as tutoring adults in conversational and business Italian. I am a native Italian speaker and am passionate about my language and culture, as well as that of other countries, and wish to share this passion and enthusiasm with the students I teach. Language is the key to our understanding of the world, and the more languages we can inhabit, the richer we can experience that which is around us!

About the lesson

My lessons are interactive and varied. We can work out a plan together to improve your Italian, from speaking to writing activities. We can choose a different topic to cover during each lesson or read an article to talk about it or simply chat about everyday life. I tailor the lessons to the students' needs and preferences.
