As an experienced high school math teacher, I believe it is important for protocols to be established with students. I will develop an understanding with the student involving the questions that he or she has based upon the most recent lesson taught by their teacher. And from that point, I would begin working to build areas of weakness and diagnose areas of need in developing the student. I am able to use differentiation (calculators, videos, drawings, math vocabulary, manipulatives, etc. ) to teach various learning styles (kinestic, symbolic, auditory, visual, etc.). My areas of strength are College Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Calculus.
