About Melanie
I’m a passionate guitar teacher with over 11 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar. I love composing and arranging music, and I bring that enthusiasm into every lesson. My teaching style is engaging, personalized, and results-driven, focused on helping students reach their full potential.
I work with Intermediate to Advanced learners and future professionals, guiding them through scales, modes, songwriting, rhythm, and live performance techniques. My goal is to strengthen both technical skills and musical expression so that every student can play confidently and creatively.
I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into clear, actionable steps while encouraging experimentation and personal style. Whether it’s crafting original songs, improvising over chord progressions, or preparing for performances, I provide structured guidance and hands-on support.
I also emphasize the importance of rhythm, phrasing, and dynamics, helping students connect with the music emotionally as well as technically. I take pride in seeing my students grow, not just as musicians but as confident performers.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students of all levels enjoy and master the guitar. I emphasize practical skills like classical fingerpicking, hybrid picking techniques, and tonal control to make every note expressive. Reading staff notation is an important part of my lessons, giving students a strong foundation in music theory alongside playing.
I design lessons that balance technique, creativity, and performance. Students learn to play their favorite songs while also developing essential skills like improvisation and composition. I guide them through exercises that strengthen hand coordination, timing, and dynamics.
I also support aspiring performers, helping them build confidence in recording and live performances. Whether a student dreams of performing on stage or producing music at home, I provide guidance and encouragement to excel. Lessons are personalized, keeping each student’s goals, pace, and musical style in mind.
I create a friendly, motivating environment where curiosity and practice go hand in hand. By combining structured learning with creative exploration, students not only improve their skills but also develop a lasting passion for guitar.
