About Lennon
Hello! I’m a guitar teacher with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music with a Guitar Major. My passion is exploring the global language of music and sharing it with curious learners. Over the years, I’ve conducted workshops on flamenco, bossa nova, and Hindustani classical styles, blending rich traditions into modern guitar practice. My lessons are interactive, inviting students to dive deep into the cultural roots of each genre.
We explore rhythm cycles, melodic phrasing, and the unique techniques that bring these styles to life. I guide Intermediate to Expert players in expanding their musical vocabulary while strengthening technique and artistry. Each lesson is a journey through sound, where theory meets practice in a hands-on, engaging way.
I encourage my students to connect emotionally with their instrument, allowing personal expression to shine. Together, we study intricate rhythms, explore improvisation, and develop a deeper understanding of world music traditions. My guitar teaching approach is built on a strong foundation of exam preparation and theory grounding. I guide students through structured repertoire study that aligns with certification standards. We work step-by-step on sight reading for guitar, ensuring accuracy and confidence in reading musical notation.
Classical fingerstyle development is a key part of our lessons, helping students build precision, tone, and control. I also introduce notation fluency, so students can easily interpret sheet music across styles. Each lesson includes clear learning milestones, allowing for steady progress over time.
I provide personalized feedback after every session, addressing each student’s unique strengths and areas for improvement. For students who thrive on academic structure, I create detailed practice plans that balance technique and musicality. Those aiming for expressive range explore dynamic phrasing, tonal variety, and improvisation exercises. My supportive approach helps students perform confidently, whether in exams or on stage.
