About Agnes

I am an enthusiastic drum tutor with 12 years of professional teaching experience. I teach high school students, college students, and elderly learners. I have successfully trained around 150 to 200 students so far. One of my proudest moments was when my students gave their first group performance. Seeing their happiness and confidence on stage is one of the biggest achievements of my career. Many of my students now play regularly in events and programmes. My teaching approach is simple, patient, and supportive. I focus on rhythm, timing, stick control, and coordination. I guide students step by step so they never feel confused or stressed. For elderly learners, I keep lessons slow, peaceful, and enjoyable. For younger learners, I focus on confidence, speed control, and performance. I believe mistakes are part of learning and encourage students to keep trying. My mission is to inspire students and help them enjoy music at any stage of life.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology for drums is built on Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility. I believe that learning drums should be exciting, and every lesson should help the student grow in both skill and musical confidence. To achieve this, I begin each class with clear communication. I take time to understand the student’s goals, musical taste, previous experience, and learning speed. This helps me plan lessons that match the student’s individual needs. I also encourage open conversation during lessons so students feel comfortable asking questions or sharing ideas. Creativity plays an important role in my teaching style. Drums are not just about patterns and beats—they are about expression. I include creative exercises such as building original drum grooves, experimenting with rhythm variations, and playing along with different styles of music. These activities help students think outside the box and gain a deeper understanding of musical rhythm. I also use backing tracks to make practice more fun and to help students understand how drums blend with other instruments. Flexibility is another foundation of my approach. Every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching speed, activities, and explanations depending on what works best for the learner. Some students prefer visual learning, some prefer listening, and some learn better by doing. I make sure that lessons stay supportive and adaptable so all types of students can feel comfortable and confident. If a student struggles with a technique, I offer alternative methods and break the skill into smaller steps until they succeed. Along with drum lessons, I can also teach subjects that relate to music, rhythm training, basic music theory, and performance preparation. My goal is to help students become strong, independent musicians who enjoy their learning journey. Whether a student is a beginner or already advanced, I make sure that every lesson provides value, motivation, and a clear direction for improvement.
