About Anthony

I've been tutoring for as long as I remember; in fact, I was moved from my first elementary school because I wasn't learning anything and so opted to help my peers instead. As such, I've had plenty of time to hone my craft so that you'll be sure to get the most out of me. Furthermore, I've been employed by my high school and now my college to tutor students in math with glowing success, both of which are some of the most rigorous schools of their kind in the country. I've been tutoring for years, and I look forward to expanding my scope to online lessons with you today!

About the lesson

I teach mathematics like few do nowadays. Most teachers prefer to lecture and merely talk at their students and explain math to them like they would explain it to themselves. This is not how I teach. I will talk to you in particular and teach you in particular: I will meet you where you are at and go from there, instead of starting where I'm at and leaving you behind.

Furthermore, I often resort to ancient math to explain modern math. Why do I do this? Because we begun with ancient math, and only from there did we reach modern math. If your math class doesn't make sense to you, that's because it's incomplete, it's missing most of the story! But what I've learned from tutoring for so long is that it is precisely this story that makes math "click" with most people. Therefore, most of the time, I'll be putting that story at the forefront of my lessons, teaching you math how we first learned math.

I've primarily taught math to 10th grade and above, because that's usually when geometry is taught, and that's my strongest subject. This doesn't mean that I would have difficulty teaching anyone below or above that range, and in fact I'd be glad to widen it!
