About Emma

I love teaching Geography and Film Studies, both subjects that deal with how you look at the world. I am currently working on my PhD in film and am employed as a part-time teacher in a secondary school. I have been Head of Department in two London based schools and I have taught Geography from year 7 up to year 13. Film studies I only teach at A Level. I have taught GCSE Geography many times and I have particular expertise in teaching A Level geography, in which I have taught both the human and physical sides of the course in AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel and WJEC plus on the IB course. I have also worked for both GCSE and A Level exam boards.

About the lesson

I use a variety of methods to help students retain and understand the many complex terms both Geography and Film Studies involve. This could be looking at model answers, rapid fire quizzes, knowledge charts, 3-minute summaries, and many more techniques that can be tailored to the needs of the student. I am highly organised and will set up a plan of learning in our first session, tailored to the student's needs and requirements. As an examiner I am able to teach to the requirements of the exam boards and hone exam techniques to get the best grades possible.

Perfect! On line lessons with Emma are really helpful to my son Lucas. He is able to go through lessons and extra work to develop his knowledge and skills. His marks have improved and he enjoys this subject now , which was not the case before his tutoring with Emma. Highly recommend her as a tutor.
