About Soli

I’m a former high school history teacher and coach with 4 years of hands-on classroom experience. While I’ve paused my full-time teaching career to focus on raising my young family, I am bringing my background in education and psychology straight to the tutor screen to support local students.
What I specialize in:
Mastering the System: Teaching students exactly what teachers look for on rubrics and how to structure top-tier essays (including AP DBQs and FRQs).
Beating the Brain-Freeze: Using my psychology background to break down massive study guides into manageable pieces and reduce testing anxiety.
Academic Accountability: Helping students build the organization and time-management habits they need to succeed on their own.
Because I’m a mom, I know how hectic family schedules are, so I offer convenient, 1-on-1 virtual tutoring sessions right in the evenings. Let’s transform history from an intimidating chore into a subject your student feels completely confident tackling.

About the lesson

If your high schooler is feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of reading, essay writing, or complex concepts in their history or social studies classes, I am here to help them catch their breath and build real confidence.
I spent four incredible years directly inside the high school classroom, teaching history and working closely with students every single day. While I am not currently a licensed, certified teacher, I completed the rigorous classroom training and coursework required for certification before shifting my focus to raising my young family. What that means for your student is that they get a tutor who has total command of the curriculum, deep experience prepping students for exams, and an intimate understanding of exactly what high school teachers are looking for on essays and projects.
Because my background is also rooted in psychology and mentoring, my tutoring style goes far beyond just memorizing dates and facts. I specialize in helping students break down massive amounts of information into manageable steps, mastering high-stakes writing assignments (like AP DBQs), and developing the organizational and study habits that reduce school anxiety.
As a mom, I know how busy family schedules are, which is why I offer flexible evening virtual sessions designed to fit right into your routine. I love helping teenagers find their rhythm, realize their potential, and transform a subject that feels intimidating into one they genuinely enjoy.
