About Noah
As an undergraduate student at the University of Exeter, I am passionate about helping students excel in English, particularly GCSE English. With an A in A-Level English Literature, I have a strong understanding of the subject and a deep appreciation for the power of literature and language. My approach to tutoring is student-centred, focusing on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment tailored to each individual’s needs. I believe in building strong foundational knowledge while also developing critical thinking and analytical skills, particularly for subjects like English. I use a mix of interactive activities, discussion, and structured lessons to keep the material engaging and ensure students grasp key concepts. For GCSE English, I focus on breaking down complex ideas into digestible chunks, using examples from literature and past exam papers, to make lessons both relevant and stimulating. I encourage active participation, where students can ask questions and explore topics in depth. I also incorporate revision techniques, such as creating mind maps and practice essays, to prepare students for exams. Typically, lessons are 1 hour long, which I find allows for focused learning without overwhelming the student. However, I’m flexible and can adjust the time based on the student’s needs.
