About Gabby
From a young age, I have always had a love of reading and writing, with aspirations of turning that passion into a career. I attended the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC) and earned my B.A. in Journalism with a minor in Anthropology. I had the opportunity to cover so many incredible stories and even travel abroad for a summer internship as a reporter. In 2018, I began private tutoring and found that as much as I enjoyed writing, I also loved teaching and helping others achieve their academic goals. Shortly after I became a tutor, I also enrolled in graduate school (also at the SOJC!) and focused my studies on creative storytelling, branding/marketing and persuasive communication. Since then, I have tutored over 200 students and graduated with a M.A. in Strategic Communication, as well as worked for small business clients and a local non-profit. I'm grateful for the variety of experiences I've had throughout my career so far, and I'm especially grateful to all of the folks I've been able to teach and learn from along the way!

I work one-on-one with students to help them become stronger and more expressive writers, from creative storytelling to detailed research essays to college applications.
Lesson plans are 100% tailored to my students' needs! Common topics that I work with students on are:
- Brainstorming
- Academic Research (journal articles, studies, etc.)

- Expression through Word Choice, Mood & Tone
- Proofreading & Review
- College Application & Scholarship Essays
I typically work with high school and college students in English and Writing courses, as well as courses covering humanities, social sciences and business topics that require written work. I also have experience working with non-academic writers, such as journalists, creative writers, and small business owners.
