About Caroline

I am a qualified TESOL teacher with extensive teaching experience in both Australia and China. I have taught General, Academic and Business English in private language schools, tertiary colleges and corporate settings, including Samsung, LG and Ericsson. Since 2019, I have provided private English tuition to adult EAL learners and Australian high school students in Canberra and online.

I currently work with students from diverse language backgrounds and have extensive experience supporting Mandarin-speaking learners.

Alongside my EAL teaching, I also tutor Australian high school students in English, helping them develop stronger writing, literacy and analytical skills.

I also speak advanced Mandarin, which enables me to support Chinese-speaking learners where appropriate.

About the lesson

I am an experienced and supportive English tutor who helps adult English language learners (EAL/ESL) and Australian high school students build confidence, strengthen their English skills and achieve their academic, professional and personal goals.

Whether you are preparing for further study, advancing your career, settling into life in Australia, or improving your school results, I provide personalised tuition tailored to your individual needs. Lessons are available online or in person in Canberra, with one-to-one and small group options.

- Conversational English and pronunciation
- Grammar, vocabulary and fluency
- IELTS and PTE preparation
- English for university, TAFE and further study

My lessons are practical, engaging and designed for your goals, whether you are entering the workforce, changing careers, seeking promotion or building confidence communicating in English.

High School English Tuition

I also tutor students studying the Australian high school English curriculum, helping them to:

- Improve essay writing and written expression
- Develop analytical reading and text response skills
- Analyse novels, plays, poetry and other prescribed texts
- Strengthen grammar, vocabulary and literacy skills
- Prepare for assessments and examinations
- Develop creative writing skills

My aim is to help students become more confident, independent readers, writers and critical thinkers while improving their academic performance.
