About Gerbie
Sometimes I wish I were your age again.
When I was younger, I made many mistakes in my studies and doubted my ability to succeed. Today, I have gained enough experience and skills to share with the younger generation in a format that is not boring or ''old-fashioned''.
I have been in education and training for more than 15 years. I am a Moderator, Assessor, Facilitator & Coach and have a professional designation as a Skills Development Practitioner by ASDSA. I received a distinction for the Training and Development Practices course I did with Unisa and am enthusiastic about developing the skills, knowledge and attitude of youngsters.
I learnt the hard way, but that does not necessarily have to be the case for you. Technology has given us a wonderful opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in a different manner, but we need to learn how to use it while still thinking critically about the subject.
My experience working with young adults that find it hard to learn from book or read, makes me the ideal tutor for any student.

About the lesson

The lessons will be done at your pace, although I will test your skills as we go along. Each lesson will take approximately 30 minutes with interactive and interesting activities.
Lessons can be provided in Afrikaans or English and will be focused on how to help the students understand what they are reading. Sometimes, reading a sentence over and over can be very frustrating and discouraging. My reading techniques will help the student with tools that he can use for the rest of his life.
The CV lesson will be focused on drafting a document that sketches an accurate and informative view of the individual to future employers. Finding a balance between too much and just enough information, will help you get your foot in the door.
