About Jackie
I have been teaching English Language Arts for about one year. I have been in the field of education itself for about 3 years. My classroom size currently is about 34 students, but enjoy one on one tutoring so students can get the assistance that they need- from reading comprehension to test prep. My goal is to provide students with the supports that they need and approach education in a way that encapsulates students interests.

My teaching method is very much a student based approach. I do not like lecturing my students- most of my students do not learn best that way. I provide interactive activities with my students, where they work hands on with a text in small groups. My seating arrangements are based upon heterogenous grouping, meaning that I seat students with specific needs with other students who are successful in the class. This allows struggling students to model the excelling students work. The excelling student assisting the struggling students allows them to deepen their own understanding of the material even further.
