About Gwyn
Hi! I'm Gwyn, a summa cum laude graduate with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish. I'm also TEFL certified and have several years of experience teaching and tutoring English, including two years living and teaching in Madrid, Spain.
I love language, writing, and working one-on-one with students to help them become more confident communicators. Having lived abroad and learned another language myself, I understand how intimidating it can feel to make mistakes or express yourself in a language you're still learning. I strive to make my lessons welcoming, encouraging, and free of judgment.
My background in English has given me a strong foundation in writing, grammar, literature, and critical reading, while my teaching experience has taught me how to explain difficult concepts in ways that are clear and approachable. I'm comfortable working with native English speakers who want to strengthen their writing as well as English learners who want to improve their speaking, grammar, vocabulary, reading, or writing skills.

My lessons are personalized to each student's goals, learning style, and current level. Whether you want to become a stronger writer, improve your grammar, work through a difficult essay, build confidence speaking English, or strengthen your overall English skills, I'll tailor our sessions to what you need most.
I hold a B.A. in English, graduated summa cum laude, and am TEFL certified. I also have experience teaching English in Spain, where I worked with students of different ages and ability levels. My teaching style is encouraging, patient, and practical—I want students to understand why something works rather than simply memorize rules or receive corrections.
For writing and essay tutoring, I can help with brainstorming, organization, thesis development, clarity, grammar, revision, and proofreading while helping you develop your own voice as a writer. For ESL students, lessons can focus on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, or writing depending on your goals.
Above all, I aim to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and build genuine confidence in their English and writing abilities.
