About Carla
I have been an educator since 2010, so I have 16 years of experience teaching. In 2024, my grade 12 learners performed really well, placing me in 2nd place in the district I worked in at the time - an achievement, considering it was my first solo group of grade 12s, and I was second by only 0.1%...

I work through lessons with you, step by step and adjust my teaching and explanations to suit you and help you understand. I can teach English Home Language, English First Additional Language, as well as Afrikaans as First Additional Language. In a typical lesson, I will help you identify your weaknesses or areas that you struggle with, and then break it down, structuring it in a way you understand or can relate to. I like explaining work and comparing it or relating it to real life examples or things you might have experience of. I have mostly taught high school learners, of all levels (grade 8 to 12) and varying proficiencies.
