About Makayla

I am an experienced elementary educator with nearly a decade of experience working with young learners. I currently teach second grade and previously spent several years teaching preschool, giving me a strong understanding of how children develop foundational academic skills. I have experience supporting students with a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and individual needs. I am passionate about helping children feel successful and confident in their learning, especially when a subject has previously felt difficult or frustrating. I bring the same patience, encouragement, and individualized approach to tutoring that I use in my classroom every day.

About the lesson

My tutoring sessions are designed to meet each child exactly where they are and help them grow in both skills and confidence. I offer personalized support in elementary reading, phonics, writing, and math, with lessons tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style. As an experienced elementary teacher, I understand that every child learns differently. I strive to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and low-pressure while still providing focused instruction that helps students make meaningful academic progress. Whether your child needs extra support, help catching up, or an added challenge, we will work together toward their individual goals.
