About Heather
I have spent 15 years in elementary education as both a classroom teacher and school administrator, including six years as an elementary principal. I hold a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and have extensive experience with elementary curriculum, instruction, and student learning needs.
One of my greatest strengths is connecting with students and helping them feel comfortable enough to learn. I understand that every child learns differently, and struggling with a skill does not mean a student cannot be successful—it may simply mean we need to find a different way to teach it.
I’m patient, encouraging, and I love to laugh and make learning enjoyable. At the same time, when it’s time to work, we work! I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and celebrating their progress. My goal is for your child to know they have someone in their corner who believes in them while giving them the support and instruction they need to grow.

I believe tutoring should meet students exactly where they are. I start by identifying skill gaps, then provide targeted instruction and practice to help students build both skills and confidence. My lessons are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each child’s individual needs. I can provide support in elementary reading and math, foundational skills, upper elementary math, homework help, test preparation, and additional practice with skills being taught at school. I believe learning can be fun, but I also know when it’s time to buckle down and get to work! My goal is for every student to leave our sessions feeling successful and more confident than when they started.
