About Deborah
I have loved teaching since the day I started in 1996. Over the last 30 years, I have taught students in kindergarten through college. Each generation is unique, but all students need to be heard and they need to learn in a way that empowers them to create magic. I am honored to be a member of such an esteemed profession that encourages strength, talent and self-awareness.

As an experienced educator, I am committed to the education and empowerment of students through higher critical thinking skills, project-based learning, and innovative problem-solving strategies. Over the last ten years I have taught high school students History and English courses that highlight more than dates and names, but courses that ask questions and uncover themes and patterns.
A typical lesson plan includes introducing a theme or concept with attention to vocabulary enrichment and thinking about the back stories of history.
In my classes, my students are encouraged to share their voice and their agency in a space that is safe and enlightening.
