About Çağan

I am a professionally trained drummer and dedicated drum tutor with a strong background in live performance and session work. I began playing drums at the age of 11 and later graduated from a Fine Arts High School, where I studied piano and cello alongside developing my drumming skills.

Throughout my musical journey, I have trained with experienced drummers from well-known touring bands in Turkey, gaining insight into professional performance standards, discipline, and musical versatility. My education and performance background allow me to teach not only technique, but also musicality, groove, timing, and stage awareness.

I have experience teaching students of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced players who want to refine their technique or expand stylistically. My lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building solid fundamentals while helping students develop confidence, creativity, and their own musical identity.

I have studied and performed across multiple styles including jazz, rock, blues, and funk, which enables me to adapt lessons according to each student’s interests. Whether your goal is to play confidently, join a band, improve technique, or prepare for performances, I am committed to helping you progress effectively and enjoy the learning process.

About the lesson

My drum lessons are structured, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals and current level. Every lesson is designed to create measurable progress while keeping the learning process engaging and motivating.

A typical lesson includes technical development (stick control, coordination, timing), groove studies, and musical application. We work with a metronome to improve accuracy and consistency, and exercises are gradually adapted to increase control, speed, and endurance.

Students also learn how to apply technique musically through songs, style analysis, and performance-based practice. Depending on the student’s interests, lessons can focus on genres such as rock, jazz, blues, funk, or modern styles.

For beginners, we focus on building strong fundamentals, posture, reading basic rhythms, and developing independence. For intermediate and advanced students, lessons may include advanced coordination systems, dynamic control, improvisation concepts, and groove refinement.

Clear weekly goals are set, and structured practice guidance is provided to ensure steady improvement between lessons. The aim is not only to improve technical ability, but also to develop confidence, musical awareness, and a strong sense of timing.

Lessons are available both online and face-to-face.

Lessons are structured and goal-oriented. Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced drummer, we build a clear progression plan.

What you will learn:

• Proper stick technique & control
• Speed, endurance & hand development
• Groove building (Rock, Pop, Funk, Blues, etc.)
• Fills & musical phrasing
• Coordination & independence
• Reading drum notation
• Playing with click track
• Song application & band preparation

All students follow a structured learning system designed around their level and goals.

I personally write all drum notation using Sibelius, and students receive custom PDF materials during the process.

Additionally, I offer a structured drum method book (30+ pages) covering technique, grooves, reading and musical application.

Extra custom exercises and updated materials are provided when needed based on individual progress.
