About Allison

My name is Allison, and I am an experienced SAT Prep tutor and admissions expert with a strong background in both English and Math. Currently, I work for Flex College Prep, helping students navigate the college admissions process, and I previously worked for UCSD Undergraduate Admissions, gaining valuable insight into what top universities look for in applicants. I excel at breaking down complex concepts systematically, guiding students step by step from foundational understanding to mastery. My approach is structured, detail-oriented, and results-driven, ensuring that students not only improve their SAT scores but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. With my combined expertise in test preparation and college admissions, I am committed to helping students succeed—whether through strategic SAT prep or stronger, more competitive college applications.

About the lesson

As an experienced SAT Prep tutor, I take a structured, step-by-step approach to teaching, guiding students from the basics to mastery. My goal is to ensure that students not only understand the material but also build confidence and develop strong test-taking strategies.

Teaching Method & Techniques
I break down each subject into clear, manageable steps, progressing from foundational concepts to advanced application. My approach includes:

• Step-by-Step Instruction – Teaching SAT English concepts in a logical sequence, from grammar rules to complex reading comprehension
• Test-Taking Strategies – Equipping students with proven techniques to manage time, approach different question types, and minimize errors
• Interactive Learning – Encouraging active participation through discussions, exercises, and real SAT practice questions
• Personalized Feedback – Tracking progress and adjusting lessons to address individual strengths and areas for improvement

What Sets Me Apart
• Organized & Detail-Oriented – My lessons follow a structured path, ensuring steady progression from beginner to mastery
• Commitment to Student Growth – I focus on long-term improvement and success, not just short-term score gains
• Engaging & Supportive Approach – I create a learning environment where students feel motivated and confident
