About Alina
Chess has been a central part of my life since childhood. I began learning as a curious kid, captivated by the beauty of strategy and the thrill of competition. Over the years, I have competed, studied, and taught chess extensively, realizing that it’s far more than a game — it’s a way of sharpening the mind, understanding patterns, and fostering discipline.
Teaching chess allows me to share this lifelong passion. I deeply enjoy observing students’ growth as they transform from tentative beginners into thoughtful, confident players. I focus on nurturing not only technical skill but also emotional intelligence, patience, and strategic insight. I believe that every mistake is an opportunity for reflection and improvement, and I cultivate a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to experiment and take intellectual risks.
Beyond the classroom, I actively study historical and contemporary games, participate in tournaments, and engage with the broader chess community. These experiences enrich my teaching, enabling me to provide students with fresh perspectives, advanced techniques, and real-world insights. Watching students gain independence in thought, apply strategic thinking, and experience the joy of mastering a complex skill remains my greatest reward.

My chess lessons focus on cultivating both skill and mindset. I teach students to think ahead, anticipate consequences, and approach challenges with patience and creativity. Each session balances tactical drills, strategy development, and full gameplay, helping learners of all levels grow as confident thinkers.
Beginners learn piece movement, basic tactics, and checkmating strategies, while intermediate students focus on openings, positional understanding, and timing. Advanced players analyze master games, refine endgame skills, and develop psychological resilience. Lessons include puzzles, scenario analysis, and practical exercises to reinforce learning.
I aim to help students see chess as a mental discipline that extends beyond the board. Each lesson nurtures focus, critical thinking, and problem-solving, empowering learners to approach challenges in chess and life with confidence and clarity.
