About Talya
I am a certified Spanish teacher with 25 years of experience helping students of all ages and ability levels succeed. My extensive classroom experience has allowed me to develop the patience, communication skills, and teaching strategies needed to help students feel comfortable, supported, and confident. I create a professional, encouraging learning environment where students can ask questions, strengthen their skills, and overcome challenges. My goal is to help students improve their grades, prepare for assessments, understand difficult concepts, and feel more confident in their Spanish abilities.

As a certified Spanish teacher with 25 years of classroom experience, I have helped hundreds of students succeed in Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III, Spanish IV, AP Spanish, and introductory college Spanish. I believe every student can be successful when instruction is tailored to their individual learning style, goals, and pace.
Whether you need help with homework, grammar, vocabulary, verb tenses, reading, writing, pronunciation, speaking, listening comprehension, or test preparation, I will create lessons designed specifically for you. I also work with students who want to improve their conversational Spanish for travel or personal enrichment.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by focused instruction on the concepts that need the most attention. I use clear explanations, guided practice, and engaging activities to build understanding and confidence. Each lesson ends with independent practice and strategies students can use to continue improving between sessions.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain difficult concepts in simple, understandable ways. After 25 years in the classroom, I know how to identify learning gaps, adapt lessons for struggling learners, challenge advanced students, and help every student gain confidence. My goal is not only to improve grades and test scores but also to help students become independent, confident Spanish learners who enjoy using the language.
