About Karen
I am a diagnostic radiographer and registered cardiac sonographer with over eight years of experience in medical imaging. I graduated from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) with a Bachelor's degree in Radiography and have since specialised in echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Throughout my career, I have worked in Kenya, Jamaica, and Bermuda, gaining extensive experience in diagnostic imaging, cardiovascular assessment, and patient care. I am a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) and Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), with expertise in transthoracic echocardiography, vascular duplex ultrasound, stress echocardiography, strain imaging, and advanced cardiovascular imaging.
In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about teaching and mentoring aspiring healthcare professionals. My lessons are interactive, clinically focused, and designed to simplify complex anatomical and physiological concepts. I enjoy integrating medical imaging with anatomy and physiology to help students understand how classroom knowledge applies in real clinical practice.
My goal is to inspire confidence, encourage critical thinking, and support students in achieving academic success while developing the practical knowledge required for careers in healthcare.

I structure my anatomy and physiology lessons to be interactive, engaging, and clinically oriented. I begin with core anatomical concepts before explaining how each organ system functions under normal conditions. I use diagrams, imaging studies, case scenarios, and quizzes to reinforce learning and encourage critical thinking. My goal is to help students not only memorise anatomical structures but also understand how anatomy relates to physiology, disease processes, and clinical practice.
