About Serena
I’m a passionate science student with a strong interest in biology and the life sciences. Having studied Biology, Pre-AP Biology, and AP Biology, and now continuing my studies in Environmental Sciences, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for understanding how living systems work.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping others understand things that may initially seem difficult or overwhelming. I know that every student learns differently, and I want to create a comfortable environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. Seeing a student go from “I don’t understand this” to confidently explaining it themselves is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me.

I believe biology is about understanding, not just memorizing. My approach is to break down complex topics into simple, easy-to-understand concepts and explain the “why” behind them. I use visuals, diagrams, examples, and step-by-step explanations to make lessons more engaging and easier to remember. I also adapt my teaching style to each student, focusing on the areas they find most challenging and helping them build confidence in their understanding of biology.
