About Patricia
Hi! My name is Patricia! Es un gusto conocerte! I am an experienced language learner and teacher who is passionate about helping students reach their goals!
I recently returned to the U.S. after two years of teaching English abroad in the Spanish-speaking country of Ecuador. I have extensive knowledge and experience with language learning practices and am equipped with great strategies on how to help build confidence throughout one's language learning journey. I am also bilingual in Spanish and have an intimate understanding of the language and grammatical structures.
I strive to understand my students' educational needs and provide them with resources and guidance that best suit their own learning style. All I ask is for your motivation and hard work in return!

When it comes to learning a new language, consistent practice is paramount. Through experience of both learning a new language and teaching my own language, I have discovered that conversational practice and exposure to a language support a steady progression in the skill. My lessons will benefit beginning Spanish students as they embark on their language journey as I focus on a more conversational and applicable approach through real-life examples.
A typical lesson will begin with basic conversation in the target language to practice speaking and listening (e.g. "Hi, how are you?" "Tell me about yourself," etc.). The latter portion of the lesson will focus on grammatical structures and how they are used in real-life scenarios.
