About Kam San
I am a dedicated and experienced bass guitar and ukulele teacher with over 7 years of teaching experience, working with students from age 6 through to adults. I am passionate about helping learners of all levels build strong musical foundations while enjoying the process of making music.
I hold a Grade 8 qualification in Electric Bass Guitar from the Rockschool (RSL) International Rock Music Exam Board in London, as well as a Higher Diploma in Digital Music and Audio Technology from VTC (IVE). Alongside my private and school teaching experience, these qualifications support a well-rounded and structured approach to music education.
As an active musician, I was the lead vocalist and bassist for the band HAZE from 2006 to 2019, performing at a variety of live shows and music festivals. This experience has given me strong stage presence and real-world performance insight, which I incorporate into my teaching. I have also been involved in recording original music, developing skills in studio production, collaboration, and creative arrangement.
My teaching covers bass guitar and ukulele, focusing on technique, rhythm, musicality, and creativity. I offer both one-to-one and tailoring each session to suit individual goals and learning styles. In addition, I provide bass guitar setup services to help students achieve the best possible sound and playability from their instruments.
I can conduct lessons in English, Cantonese, or Mandarin, depending on the student’s needs.

I have taught both beginners and more advanced players, offering engaging and supportive lessons tailored to each individual’s goals.
In addition to private tuition, I also have school teaching experience, delivering both group and one-to-one lessons in educational settings. This has allowed me to adapt my teaching style to suit different learning environments and age groups effectively. My teaching approach combines structure with flexibility, ensuring that each lesson is productive, enjoyable, and suited to the student’s pace and interests.
I also offer professional bass guitar setup services, helping players achieve the best possible sound and playability from their instrument.
My lessons are always positive, relaxed, and interactive, with a strong focus on building confidence and a genuine love for music. I create a friendly and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable exploring, learning, and progressing at their own pace.
