About Louis

I have nearly 8 years of experience working in practice. This includes working for established offices in Glasgow & Edinburgh as well as helping to set up a new company in Guangzhou, China. Working under tight professional deadlines and pressure has given me the skills to quickly react to briefs and test artistic moves against pragmatic concerns.

During my time in university, I was consistently active in design / peer reviews and in my final years, I attended reviews for students in earlier years as a critic. I have previously carried out private tutorials for students and have seen their improvement over a few lessons alone.

I am very passionate about art, design and architecture. I am prepared to challenge, be challenged and have fun!

About the lesson

Lessons will generally begin with a student led discussion about their project. The structure of each lesson shall depend on the interests of the student.

Particular tasks will be assigned during lessons so that the student can leave each tutorial with either a physically drawn outcome or knowledge on how to move forward.

The student is encouraged to bring drawing, modelling and any digital mediums along to the tutorial for discussion / development.

I understand that technical design is an area where many students struggle. I have extensive experience in this area and can focus on this with students if this is of interest.
