About Melanie
The key to educational success is self-belief and confidence. This I endeavour to instil in my students in their learning and their ability to achieve. I am pleased to say that pupils move up between sets at school, achieve two grades higher at GCSE level and all Entrance exam students have been offered places (including those aiming for the most prestigious of UK schools). I like to think that I am approachable and can take a creative approach to learning, where appropriate, whilst encouraging students to aim for their potential. I feel particularly rewarded when those students who find learning more of a challenge begin to find a renewed confidence, turning that into significant strides in their capabilities.

Although a specific, targeted approach is needed for Entrance exams, it still needs to be engaging. Pupils' strengths and areas for development are catered for. I like to encourage students to think through the tasks and evaluate how they could improve or use a more effective strategy to boost their outcomes. Subjects covered are: English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Interview practice. There are always follow-up tasks to complete between lessons.
