About Karen
I am a teacher with over 30 years experience in high school and adult education. I have taught high school science and SAT prep. I taught in a high school remedial reading program for kids reading two or more years below grade level. It was common for students to gain from two to six grade levels in one school year.
I have taught adults from beginning readers to students preparing for a high school equivalency exam and I can teach all the subjects on the equivalency test.

My teaching is student-centered and teacher-monitored. My class time is spent on students working and asking for help when needed. I am patient with repeated explanations and multiple attempts to succeed. I also push every student to read outside class.
