About Dulani

Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Dulani Rathnayake, and I’m thrilled to be your teacher. Let me tell you a little about myself!

I’ve spent over 8 years teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and another 15 years training and mentoring other teachers to help them succeed in their classrooms. I’m also proud to be a validated Master Trainer with the British Council Sri Lanka, where I helped create programs to support English teachers worldwide.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English and English Literature, a Master’s in Linguistics, and two Master’s degrees in Education—one focusing on TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and the other on Inclusive Education from Massey University.

Currently, I teach at English Teaching College, where I help students improve their English and prepare for careers. I also work with young children at Massey Child Care Centre and Randstad Education, and I support seniors as an Activities Assistant at Bupa Riverstone.

I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and my goal is to create a classroom where you feel confident, supported, and inspired to learn. I’m here to help you not only improve your English skills but also to enjoy the journey of learning.

As a validated Master Trainer at the British Council Sri Lanka, I have conducted workshops, trained educators, and designed curricula to enhance teaching standards.

My academic qualifications include:

Bachelor of Arts in English and English Literature
Master of Arts in Linguistics
Master of Education (TESOL focus)
Master of Education (Inclusive Education) from Massey University
Currently, I work as a casual tutor at English Teaching College (ETC), teaching English and delivering caregiver modules. I am also a teacher reliever for Massey Child Care Centre and Randstad Education. Additionally, I contribute to the well-being of seniors as an Activities Assistant at Bupa Riverstone, engaging individuals with dementia.

My approach integrates inclusivity, empathy, and student-centered teaching methods, ensuring a supportive learning environment for diverse learners. I am eager to bring my expertise and dedication to your team, fostering language acquisition and promoting cultural understanding among students.
