About Samantha
Hi! I’m Samantha, a dedicated tutor who loves helping students feel confident and excited about learning. I’ve worked with kids of all ages, and I specialize in making tricky subjects feel more approachable and fun. I’m especially passionate about science and reading, and I love finding creative ways to bring lessons to life. When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me out in nature, paddleboarding, hiking, or caring for my plants and pets. I also enjoy photography and sharing science experiments that spark curiosity. I believe that learning should be joyful, and I’m here to support every step of the way!

As a tutor, I take a student-centered approach that focuses on encouragement, connection, and curiosity. Every learner is different, so I tailor each session to meet the student's unique needs, learning style, and goals. Whether a student thrives with visual aids, hands-on activities, or step-by-step breakdowns, I adapt my methods to make concepts click.
My typical lesson plan includes a quick check-in to build rapport and assess where the student stands, followed by a clear learning goal for the session. We then move through guided practice, interactive learning (like games, discussions, or visual tools), and end with a brief reflection or review to solidify understanding.
What sets me apart is my background in informal education—I’ve developed and led science programs in museums, camps, and outreach events, and I’m certified to teach NASA’s Mission: The Universe curriculum. I blend academic support with creativity, real-world connections, and a nurturing learning environment.
My lessons are designed for students in kindergarten through high school, whether they need help catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead. I support learners across a variety of subjects including reading, writing, math foundations, and science, with a special focus on building confidence along the way.

I can’t say enough good things about Samantha. She tutors some of the other kids in my neighborhood. And she’s been working with my son for a little while now, and the difference we’ve seen is amazing. He used to get so frustrated with reading and just didn’t enjoy school the way he used to. But he actually looks forward to his time with her.
She is so patient and kind, and she really knows how to connect with kids. You can tell she loves what she does. She always comes prepared, and I feel like she really gets my child.View more recommendations
