About Akshitha
Hi, I’m Akshitha! I’m a student who has always enjoyed learning science. While some people find science boring or difficult because it can be quite conceptual, I’ve always found it interesting because understanding the concepts can make such a big difference in how you approach a problem.
I enjoy teaching because I love helping others reach that same “aha!” moment when something finally makes sense. I want to make science feel less intimidating and more enjoyable by explaining concepts in a simple, clear, and relatable way. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades, but also become more confident in their ability to learn and understand science.

My approach to tutoring is personalised, supportive, and focused on building genuine understanding rather than simply memorising answers. I first try to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, learning style, and goals, and then adapt my teaching accordingly.
I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, so I aim to create a patient and encouraging environment. I break difficult concepts into manageable steps, use practical examples, and regularly check understanding before moving forward.
As a current Master of Biotechnology student at the University of Melbourne with a background in Biomedical Sciences, I understand the challenges students can face with science subjects. My goal is not only to help students improve their results, but also to build their confidence, independence, and interest in the subject.
