I've known Sonya for quite some time. She has always been an attentive, supportive and patient educator. I have observed her in her teaching element on several occasions and have witnessed the amount of care and concern she shows for her students. She goes above and beyond to ensure that the students are understanding and grasping the subject matter. She makes learning fun and provides a safe space for students who may be struggling to get the extra help they need.

I taught beside Sonya at Henderson Middle School. It was evident she loved her students and could motivate them to succeed. She knows math and how to break it down for students to understand.. if I had a child needing help with math, I wouldn’t hesitate to call Sonya.

Mrs Sonya taught me throughout middle school & I will always say she was the best! She is dedicated to making sure her students are understanding of the work they are doing & actually getting it. I will forever thank her & remember her teaching me everything I know in math!!! Love her!

I had the privilege of being taught by Sonya Spruill in several math courses, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry. She is a patient and dedicated teacher. She takes the time to explain each concept step by step, making even the hardest topics easier to understand over time.

She never rushes through the material. She always ensures her students understand the “why” behind each problem. If it weren't for her, I would have failed all my math classes. I highly recommend her.
