About Perry
Academic writing is challenging for students who wish to engage in higher education. Academic writing, unlike descriptive writing, requires critical thinking ability and knowledge of certain writing conventions such as synthesis and cohesion. Additionally, understanding structure is important; for example, how to construct topic sentences and thesis statements, as well as introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions. Furthermore, the need to give credit to sources by referencing is essential to avoid plagiarism. These are some of the areas which will be covered.

• Lessons will include PowerPoint instructions and student worksheets
• Perry will observe and support the students through all worksheet exercises
• Lessons can be one-on-one or as a group of up to 10 students
• Lessons will ideally run for 90 minutes
• Perry has approximately 10 years of experience teaching students in England, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Kazakhstan
• The instructor's qualifications include a Cert Ed teaching qualification and a BA in Education from Wolverhampton University in the UK; a Masters's degree in Linguistics from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Additionally, Perry has earned a partial doctorate degree in education.
