About Shama

I worked as a vice-principal/chemistry teacher for nearly 8 years in Sri Lanka. I have a B.Sc. in Natural Science and a Master's in Chemistry Education from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and recently completed my Master's in Environmental Science at UWA. Currently, I am working as a coordinator in a school and tutoring Chemistry for ATAR. For more than 4 years, I have been successfully preparing students for ATAR Chemistry.

About the lesson

My teaching method is always interactive and child-centered. It depends on the children's age and understanding. I like to direct children and provide the opportunity for experiential learning with proper guidance. Before starting the lesson, I will try to understand the child's level of knowledge in the particular area by asking questions relevant to the lesson and giving some questions to solve. Then, I support, direct, guide, and instruct the child to obtain further knowledge and understanding.

Lessons for up to year 8, at my place, can be offered for $30 per hour. Emergency cancellations will be informed 24 hours prior to the lesson, and students also need to inform in the same way if any cancellation is necessary.
