About Grace

Hello! My name is Grace. I am a bilingual Latina with over 20 years of experience working in education, counseling, and community outreach. I hold a Master's in Counseling, a Bachelor's in Psychology, and an Associate's in Business Administration, as well as a strong background in academic support and student development. I am passionate about helping others grow, both academically and personally. I have experience working with both youth and adults in academic and professional settings. I've taught child development and psychology to adult learners, supported students with Spanish, English, writing, reading comprehension, and math. My background in education and counseling allows me to break down complex topics into simple, engaging steps that make learning feel natural. My ability to work with different ages and learning styles is what makes me an effective and versatile tutor. Let's work together to meet your goals and make learning something to look forward to!

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is centered around connection, observation, and customization. 1. Get to know my student - how they learn best (visual, verbal, or hands-on). 2. Tailor the lesson based on their learning style. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, I adapt to my students' learning styles to keep them engaged and stress-free. A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in to understand what my student already knows and where they feel challenged, whether it's Spanish, English, Math, support with personal growth, or school-related counseling. I break down the course into small, attainable goals and build upon every successful completion. I move at the student's pace to promote confidence and ensure the subject is being well understood. I incorporate real-life examples, visual aids, and guided practice depending on the student's preference. I have a background working with students, staff, adults, and families. I offer tutoring for: Elementary, Middle, and High School students Adults seeking to improve their Spanish or English Students who need extra support in math or writing Individuals looking for academic guidance and/or emotional support Lessons are available via Zoom, Google Meet, or in-person if located in the Fresno/Clovis area.
