About Thane
My interest in Excel began when I started exploring how digital tools can help people manage information more efficiently. I quickly realized that spreadsheets provide a powerful way to perform calculations, analyze data, and organize complex information. This curiosity encouraged me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and later complete a Master’s in Information Systems.
Over the past 8 years, I have taught Excel to students and professionals who wanted to improve their ability to work with spreadsheets. Through my teaching experience, I noticed that many learners initially feel uncertain when they encounter spreadsheet formulas and functions. Because of this, I focus on explaining concepts clearly and guiding students through practical exercises.
My teaching approach emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world application. I encourage students to experiment with spreadsheet tools and explore how different features can simplify data tasks. Helping learners gain confidence in using Excel and develop strong data management skills is one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching work.

My Excel lessons focus on helping students understand how spreadsheets can be used to organize, calculate, and analyze information efficiently. Excel is widely used in many academic and professional environments because it provides powerful tools for managing data and presenting results clearly. In my lessons, I guide students step by step so they can learn how different spreadsheet features work and how they can apply them to real tasks.
Lessons usually begin with the fundamental structure of Excel including rows, columns, and cells. Students learn how to enter data correctly, format spreadsheets for clarity, and perform simple calculations using formulas. These early lessons help learners become comfortable working with spreadsheets and understanding how data can be organized effectively.
As students gain confidence, lessons expand into more advanced features such as functions, data sorting, filtering, conditional formatting, and chart creation. Students also learn how to summarize large datasets using pivot tables and structured reports. My goal is to help learners develop practical Excel skills that allow them to analyze information and present results in a clear and organized way.
