About Max
Tutor of GCSE Sociology, GCSE English, AS OCR English Literature I am very passionate about tutoring and have always been inclined to lead and inspire different people to grow and love the subjects that I do. Tutoring is about making someone appreciate what a subject has to offer, and then becoming an expert in it, just like the tutor. I am applying to Oxford to study English Language and Literature, and thoroughly enjoy English and teaching the magic of the subject to all my tutees. I self-taught myself GCSE Sociology and came out with a 9, and have tutored it ever since. Something about that subject has latched onto me and I find it very pleasing and easy to teach.

I believe in a very by-the-book philosophy for tutoring; the aim is to fully comprehend the demands of the exam board and specification, and develop one's exam skills in order to produce the best answers possible. For English and humanities especially, learning your prescribed texts and sources off by heart is also crucial to achieving full marks. The amalgam of these aims is detailed within my tutoring. For Sociology, I have procured some very well tested powerpoints and have distinguished experience in teaching students how to get better grades. My recent success was getting someone from a grade 5 predicted to achieving a grade 8 overall in the exam.
