About Nicola

During both my MSc and BA studies at top Russell Group universities, I developed a keen ability to analyse complex ideas and arguments. This skill was honed through extensive practice in identifying underlying assumptions and biases, and through constructing clear and compelling arguments, resulting in first-class honours throughout my studies and winning undergraduate awards in both philosophy and politics. For political sciences, I can support in various fields including conflict resolution, sustainability, political theory, political economy, and international relations in regions such as the MENA, EU, US, and Africa. My focus in International Public Policy has also enabled me to excel in different styles of writing, such as policy briefs. In philosophy, I have learned to analyse complex ideas and arguments, critically evaluate evidence and reasoning, and construct clear and persuasive arguments. These skills have been essential in developing high-quality essays and conducting rigorous research analysis in areas such as epistemology, political philosophy, applied ethics, and Chinese philosophy. Philosophy has also helped me develop critical thinking skills, enabling me to evaluate sources of information and identify fallacious arguments. This has been invaluable in both essay writing and research analysis, where the ability to identify and evaluate different perspectives is essential. In the economics component of my degree, I have learned to collect and analyse quantitative data and construct persuasive arguments based on that data. This has been invaluable in developing my research analysis skills, where the ability to identify and interpret data is essential.

About the lesson

As a tutor in essay writing and research analysis, my approach is highly personalised and student-centred. I strive to understand each student's unique strengths, weaknesses, individual goals, and learning styles to tailor my teaching and writing approach accordingly. My teaching methodology involves a combination of discussion, peer review, guided practice, and constructive feedback. I work closely with each student to develop their critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as their writing and research abilities. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, providing clear and concise explanations, and encouraging active engagement and participation. My qualifications include serving as a formal judge for the Undergraduate Academic Graduate Award in Political Science and International Relations, holding a Master's degree in International Public Policy from UCL, and a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. I also have several years of experience teaching and tutoring in academic writing, research, and analysis. I have worked with students at all levels, from high school to graduate school, as well as professionals seeking to improve their writing and analytical skills. My lessons are for anyone looking to improve, craft, plan, and write their essays or research papers, regardless of age or level.

Perfect! Nicola has been a lifesaver, and this is not an understatement. I came to Nicola with 2 weeks to help me with my dissertation, presenting a challenge that deemed impossible..... Nicola responded instantly and arranged a meeting the very next day and what a blessing it was. The way Nicola helped me understand the criteria by it breaking down allowing me to minimise any overwhemlingness, it doesn't stop there. The amount of effort that was put in from Nicola outside of tutor times swell shows how much they care and support their students. From marking my work in their own time, to research of their own to allow understanding to my specific subject. The list could go on... also the attitude of acceptance and patience from Nicola was something again that I could honestly not have found or asked for anyone better. If you are stuck finding a tutor, please pick Nicola, you will not regret it. Nicola you are my saving grace and I will thank you forever!!

Nicola has become the true reason to why I passed my Philosophy modules for the past year. He’s interested in all that concerns philosophy, especially political philosophy, where he is truly an expert. He willingly takes his own time to think of the perfect way to approach different topics and is so kind and so eager to help anyone. He’s trustworthy not only academically but also as a person. Anyone would be lucky to have his input in their academic and personal life!
