About Gilbert Tinkhani
I have a Diploma in French Language Studies(DELF) and taught french in High School for 4 years in my counrty of origin. I have had opportunity to work in the Hospitality industry in Cape Town for the past 14 years due to my knowledge and expertise in French. I would like to share and impart my experiences to those interested to know the language practically in their field of expertize in the comfort of thier environment.

Over the past few years, I have realised that Brick and Mortar set up of classroom is not ideal to teach any language or let alone any field of learning as it gives myopic view of lessons/subject that is being imparted and this slows down the learning process. It is linea and restrive that students struggle to remember or find the lessons uninteresting. I believe practical application of the language in the day to day activities of the student is the easiest and quickest way to learn right from the beginning. It is best to engage the student to apply the use of the language in an open environment(Symbiotic approach) in the form of quiz, journalling and personal or group activities/projects. The students teaches(introduces the need) and the teacher explains the lesson (finds the best expressions and grammatical structures to complement the idea/ lesson). This makes the lessons easy to understand and quick to remember. It gives the students the freedom or the opportunity to teach as well.
