About Vex
Hello! My name is Vex Hood. I’m a Robotics Engineering student at the Queen Mary University of London who has attended many robotics and technology clubs over the years since GCSE level, and has completed their first year at university. I am currently working as a buddy mentor at Queen Mary, in order to help new students in my area of study settle into life at the university.
My teaching style is open ended. I believe my students should be able to come up to me with any question on the spot on any particular topic, and I’ll be able to answer with experience from my excellent grades in the subjects of Maths and Computer Science. Not only this, but I am willing to support hobby work, such as app and games programming on the side of these two subjects. I believe that extracurricular activities such as games programming and frequent quizzes are the best ways to learn these subjects, as I myself got into Computer Science by making simple games in Python on the side as a hobby.
I am willing to take on any student. Everyone is unique, and I accept that different students may prefer to focus on different things, and may require different ways of approaching a single topic.
